Smart home planning for new construction & renovation
Building or renovating a home? Plan the technology before the walls close. We help you turn everyday priorities into a coordinated brief for the builder, architect and qualified installation providers you choose.
Before construction
Make the room decisions early.
Begin with floor plans and furniture intentions. A TV position, home office, motorized shade or ceiling access point can affect several trades. We record desired locations and open questions while changes are still easier to discuss.
- Technology planning and room priorities
- Wi-Fi and Ethernet location concepts
- TV and speaker requirements
- Lighting-control and shade-power goals
The pre-wire brief
Give the project team a shared reference.
Our deliverable is a homeowner technology requirements brief, with indicative locations, an equipment wish list and a responsibility checklist. The licensed trades verify routes, specifications, permits and code requirements. It is not a stamped engineering design or a wiring contract.
- Network rack and expansion requirements
- Questions for camera and access providers
- Cable-label and test-report expectations
- Loxone concept and integration priorities
Phasing and handover
Prepare now. Add the right things later.
A budget can prioritize infrastructure and the most-used rooms, then leave future audio or shades for another stage. Keep a record of installed routes, equipment access and decisions so later work starts with useful information.
- Must-have, next-stage and future items
- Separate equipment and trade budgets
- Installer documentation requirements
- Owner accounts and operating instructions
Questions before booking
When should we start?
As early as practical, ideally while room layouts and electrical plans are being discussed. Bring the floor plans, schedule and a list of daily frustrations or goals.
Do you provide pre-wiring installation?
We provide the technology planning brief. Fixed wiring and regulated installation are separately contracted with qualified providers. Their verified design and required approvals govern the installation.
Can you help with a finished home?
Yes. We can compare existing connections, practical retrofit options and phased improvements without assuming every wall must be opened.
A home that works for you
What should your home do for you?
Tell us your town, your priorities and whether you are improving an existing home or planning a renovation. We will agree a useful first step and a clear scope.
