Ethernet and network infrastructure planning

Plan the connections you will want before the walls close. We help homeowners turn room layouts and equipment needs into an organized network brief for their cabling and installation providers.

Room connections

Put the outlet where life happens.

A home office, television position and ceiling access point need different connection locations. We mark intended uses on the homeowner’s plans and record the questions the installer must resolve about routes, building conditions and installation requirements.

  • Home-office and TV outlet locations
  • Wi-Fi access-point positions
  • Cat6 and Cat6A comparison questions
  • Future camera and intercom network needs

Central equipment

Give the network a sensible home.

The router, switch, recorder and optional NAS need space, access and a suitable environment. A technology brief can identify desired connections and expansion capacity; the responsible providers confirm electrical supply, ventilation and final equipment specifications.

  • Network rack and service access
  • Switch port and PoE requirements
  • NVR, NAS and UPS space allowances
  • Labeling and documentation expectations

A better handover

Ask for evidence the connections work.

Agree the cabling scope, test deliverables and labeling before installation. We help organize that request so the homeowner has a usable record of outlets and equipment, with room to change the system later.

  • Outlet and cable schedule
  • Installer test-report requirements
  • As-built location records
  • Future expansion priorities

Questions before booking

Is fixed cabling part of your package?

The current package is technology planning, not a cabling contract. New fixed wiring and building installation are separately assessed and carried out by the appropriate qualified provider.

Should every room receive the same cables?

Not necessarily. Intended use, cable routes, future flexibility and budget determine the plan. Avoid a generic cable count before reviewing the house.

A home that works for you

What should your home do for you?

Tell us your town, your priorities and whether you are improving an existing home or planning a renovation. We will agree a useful first step and a clear scope.
